On Friday, 12 September, Al Amanah College hosted a beautiful Mawlid celebration, uniting students and staff in honour of the birth of the best of all creation, Prophet Muhammad. This blessed occasion, marking the month of the Prophet’s birth, resonates with Muslims worldwide, all connected this year under the shared theme: “The Light of Guidance.”
The program was emceed by Year 12 SRC student Mariam Mallah, who warmly welcomed Year 10 student Mohammad Kassem to begin with a recitation of the Holy Qur’an. The celebration opened grand entrance by the AAC Nawbeh, who filled the hall with the rhythm of their drumming performance.
Following this, Sheikh Samer Al Shafie announced the award recipients for students who had completed the study of Kitab Al Shama’il before delivering an inspiring lesson about the Sirah of the Prophet peace be upon him.
One of the highlights of the day was a heartfelt chant about the Prophet performed by the Year 5 and Year 6 students. This was followed by the highly anticipated live performance from the AAC Girls Chanting Band, which captivated the audience.
The excitement continued as Mrs Awad announced the winners of the Religion Video Competition. Congratulations to the top four winners: Sidra Dannoun, Jibril Alwan, Mikael Dabboussi, and Leen Mansi who each received a vlogging kit along with a $50 cash prize.
The celebration concluded with a moving chant by the AAC Boys Chanting Band, after which sweets were distributed to everyone in attendance.
